Protests In Bayelsa Collation Centre Over Southern Ijaw's Polls

A noisy protest is currently taking place just outside the collation centre here in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital.

Naij.com correspondent on ground reports that the protesters are calling for the cancellation of the election held in Southern Ijaw which held late into the night on Sunday, December 6, 2015.

The protest is coming on the heels of the ban on protests in Bayelsa by the state police command.

A heavy presence of military officers is outside the collation centre as the protesters have kept chanting: “we need peace”, “one man one vote, one woman one vote.”
